Supporting Next-Generation Capability Development
and Fires Recapitalization

As part of its modernization strategy, the US Army is recapitalizing its Howitzer portfolio over the next 5 years. Across active and reserve components of the Army, this will include the initial fielding and sustainment of 2000 systems (+2000 resupply vehicles).

The howitzer program is indicative of a generational shift in capabilities and doctrine in this area. Here, doctrine has remained largely static for 40 years and this shift will require significant exploration, innovation and support from an industrial base that needs restarting from the ground up.

The Future Indirect Fires conference will enable requirements setters, capability developers, and practitioners to exchange ideas and concepts with those in industry that are ready to deliver the next generation of capability. The conference is a landmark moment for industry leaders to promote their activity and to get the right people talking about solutions.
